Space to Park Within

The space that you must park within

When you’re asked to perform a parallel park on the test, the examiner will probably pick a spot without a car behind it, so you must be aware of how much space you are using. To do a parallel park to test standard you must never exceed two car lengths during the entire process. If you reverse and are not happy with the manoeuvre, rather than continuing to go backwards, stop and pull forwards. The best way to judge two car lengths is to look at the space between you and the car in front and make sure that it’s never big enough for you to fit your car in it.

Warning – Exceeding two car lengths when performing this manoeuvre for the test could result in a fail.
